Confusion as parallel primaries, aspirants’ claims of victory mar APC senatorial election in Edo

Parallel elections reportedly marred the behaviour of the All Progressives Congress, APC, superior for the Edo South senatorial election.

DAILY POST reports that 2 aspirants, Pastor Osagie Ize-Ihama and Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, are laying assertion to the candidacy of the party.

The superior was reportedly conducted by supporters loyal to Ogbeide-Ihama, who is speculated to beryllium sponsored by Chief Nyesow Wike, the erstwhile politician of Rivers State and the incumbent curate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and allegedly backed by Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.

Ogbeide-Ihama was declared the highest scorer of the predetermination by Mohammad Ajana, president of the superior predetermination committee.

Ajana said Ogbeide-Ihama polled a full of 27, 154 votes portion his closest rival, Senator Neda Imasuen, scored 13,580 votes, and Ize-Iyamu got 6,785 votes successful each the 77 wards crossed the 7 section authorities areas of the senatorial district.

In different results, 1 Abubakar Muhammad Kabiru, who is the main returning officer, declared Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu the winner.

Kabiru said Osagie Ize-Iyamu scored 33,399 votes to look the winner, and that Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama polled 12,560 votes, portion Neda Imasuen got 5,107 votes.
