Court bars INEC from recognising ADC congresses conducted by Mark-led leadership

A Federal High Court successful Abuja has restrained INEC from recognising immoderate authorities congresses conducted by committees appointed by the David Mark-led caretaker enactment of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik successful her judgement connected Wednesday held that the work for conducting authorities congresses rests with the party’s authorities enforcement committees, not the nationalist leadership.

The tribunal further ruled that the four-year tenure of the ADC’s State Working Committees and State Executive Committees remains valid and subsisting, pending the behaviour of decently constituted congresses and the convocation of a nationalist convention.

Justice Abdulmalik besides held that neither the Nigerian Constitution nor the enactment constitution empowers the caretaker/interim National Working Committee, led by David Mark, to name committees to behaviour authorities congresses.
