The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 13 containers of expired drugs, nutrient items and information instrumentality worthy N6.38 cardinal astatine Apapa Port.
Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, disclosed this connected Tuesday during a property briefing astatine APM Terminals, Apapa, Lagos.
He said the seizures followed intensified intelligence-led enforcement, deployment of scanning exertion and targeted carnal introspection of suspicious consignments.
“The items seized see expired pharmaceutical products specified arsenic Mixagrip Cold Caplets, Ladinax tablets, chloroquine injections and diclofenac tablets,” Adeniyi said.
He added that officers besides intercepted ample consignments of Hyegra 200, Sildenafil Citrate and 800 cartons of codeine concealed successful toilet cisterns and sanitary ware.
“Other intercepted items see cartons of Artesunate injections and restricted information instrumentality specified arsenic bulletproof vests, helmets, walkie-talkies and tactical torches,” helium said.
Adeniyi said officers besides seized containers of expired nutrient items, including muffin cooky biscuits and 36,000 cans of expired Primo vigor drinks.
He added that containers of expired St. Kelvin and De Truth herb paste were besides discovered during the operation.
