Dangote: “We Did Not Fix the ₦600/Litre Petrol Price.”
Reports of a set gasoline price of ₦600 per liter have been rejected by the Dangote Refinery management, who referred to them as “speculative announcements” with no supporting evidence.
Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, signed a statement containing this information on Tuesday.
The refinery denied the claims made by several publications that it was in negotiations with oil marketers and that the price of gasoline may drop to ₦600 per liter.
The business made clear, meanwhile, that it will only communicate through proper means and has not associated with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).
It says, “Two days ago, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Punch Newspapers published headlines announcing ‘Marketers Project N600/litre for Dangote Petrol.’”
It is important for us to make it clear that IPMAN, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, is not currently a commercial partner.
He went on to say, “They have no mandate or authority to speak for us, either for good or with a hidden transcript, and we have never discussed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them.”
“We implore the public to refrain from making such wild claims. We communicate our opinions to our stakeholders via our formal channels.
