Edo Assembly primary: Aspirant drags APC candidate, others to court

An aspirant for the Esan South Constituency spot successful the Edo State House of Assembly, Barrister Victor Giwa, has approached a Federal High Court sitting successful Abuja to nullify the result of the All Progressives Congress, APC, superior predetermination for the constituency.

In a suit dated May 29, 2026, numbered ABJ/FHC/C’S/1078/26, Giwa, a lawyer, prayed the tribunal for an bid restraining Chief Sunday Oseizua Ojiezele, who was declared victor of the primary, from parading himself arsenic the campaigner of the APC for the 2027 election.

Giwa, done his lawyer, Mr Patrick Ocheja Okolo, SAN, said the the superior predetermination for Esan South Constituency was marred by irregularities.

Ojiezele, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were joined arsenic 1st to 3rd respondents, respectively.
