ICPC clarifies El-Rufai’s detention, says court adjourns case to March 31

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has clarified the circumstances surrounding the detention of erstwhile Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El‑Rufai, stating that the bureau did not attack the tribunal to question a caller hold of his detention arsenic wide reported.

In a connection signed by John Okor Odey, Head of Media and Public Communication connected Tuesday, the committee explained that it appeared successful tribunal connected March 17, 2026, lone for the proceeding of an exertion filed by El-Rufai challenging the tribunal bid that renewed his remand.

According to the ICPC, the exertion was dated and filed connected March 6, 2026, seeking to overturn the remand bid earlier granted by the tribunal connected March 5.

During the proceedings, counsel to El-Rufai was served with the commission’s effect to the exertion and subsequently requested an adjournment to survey and respond to the filing.
