In Lagos, a 40-foot container smashes a car.

A Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) has been crushed by a 40-foot container in Lagos’s Mile 2 neighborhood’s Ago Palace Road.

In a statement released on Friday, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) acknowledged the occurrence and said that four additional container truck accidents had been reported in the nation’s commercial center at various sites throughout the state.

Adebayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs and Education for LASTMA, attributed the incident to brake failure, which resulted in the SUV being crushed from behind.

An SUV with the license plate EKY 723 OS was struck by a fully loaded 40-foot container truck today at Ago Palace Road inward Ago Palace from Apple Junction inward Mile 2, according to the statement.

The SUV automobile was crushed from the rear by the 40-foot containerized truck due to a break failure, according to the investigation.

The Response Unit of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) was summoned for a quick evacuation after it was noted that no casualties were reported during the incident.

Bolaji Oreagba, General Manager of LASTMA, urged drivers, especially those of trucks, to always check the condition of their vehicles before setting out on any excursion throughout the state.

He said, “The Agency documented five distinct container truck accidents today at Ketu in Mile 12, Ojuelegba bridge inside the stadium, under the bridge opposite Lasuth, Ago Palace Road, and Oke-Alfa bridge inside Jakande Estate.
