JIgawa court begins hearing on APC House of Reps primary election petition

The Federal High Court sitting successful Dutse has commenced proceeding a suit filed by House of Representatives aspirant Elyakub Nabayi, challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) superior predetermination that produced Hussaini Adamu Jabo arsenic the party’s campaigner for the Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa national constituency seat.

During the tribunal session, which was conducted via Zoom, counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Zaharadden Jamilu, told the tribunal that his lawsuit was dissatisfied with the behaviour of the superior election. He alleged that irregularities and electoral malpractice occurred successful 3 wards during the exercise.

Barrister Baffa Alasan, counsel to the APC and the defendants, argued that the superior predetermination was conducted successful accordance with each applicable electoral guidelines and ineligible provisions, insisting that determination were nary irregularities successful the process.

Following arguments from some parties, the tribunal adjourned the lawsuit to July 2, 2026, to let some sides to contiguous their witnesses and further evidence.
