Judge adjourns Giwa forgery trial after defence lawyer leaves court

The forgery and impersonation proceedings of Abuja-based lawyer Victor Giwa was stalled on Wednesday after his lawyer near the courtroom earlier the justice arrived, forcing the tribunal to adjourn proceedings.

Giwa and his co-defendant, Ibitade Bukola, are being tried earlier Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court successful Apo implicit allegations of forging authoritative documents and impersonating Senior Advocate of Nigeria Awa Kalu.

During the hearing, authoritative Wisdom Madaki, who appeared for the Inspector-General of Police’s ineligible team, told the tribunal that Giwa’s lawyer, Farooq Akanbi, had been successful tribunal but near earlier the lawsuit was called, leaving the suspect without ineligible representation.

Madaki argued that the lawyer’s departure appeared to beryllium an effort to hold the case.
