The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, undercover agents detained a Kaduna lady in Kaduna on Saturday after discovering her in possession of at least 18 PVCs and other incriminating documents.

The woman, who was allegedly a member of a support organization for a major political party, was apprehended by EFCC agents who purported to have voters cards to sell in the Badarawa neighborhood of Kaduna city.

A source claims that the woman also possessed a list of registered voters for Badarwa/Malali Wards 01 and 08, Kaduna North Local Government Area, which included their names, bank information, and phone numbers.

To help gather more information that could result in the arrest of other members of the voter card purchasing network, the woman was being questioned by the anti-graft agency at the EFCC’s Kaduna headquarters.

Meanwhile, when gunmen opened fire sporadically and damaged election supplies at the polling station on Saturday, according to a report seen on the BBC Hausa Service on Saturday, two police officers assigned to provide security at the location in Surulere, Lagos State, hid under a car and left voters to flee for safety.

The report claims that the hoodlums damaged the BVAS and stole other equipment during the raid since the police officers were not permitted to carry weapons while doing their duties at the voting place.
