Karim Town Has A 24-Hour Curfew Imposed By Taraba Gov. Due To New Conflicts
Beginning on July 2, 2023, the governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has placed a 24-hour curfew on Karim town, the administrative center of Karim Lamido Local Government Area (LGA), and its surroundings.
After more than thirty people were killed, continued communal clashes in some areas of the local government area forced the imposition of the curfew.
Yusuf Sanda, the governor’s chief press secretary, said in a statement that security services have been instructed to guarantee strict compliance and that anyone or any group of people discovered to be disobeying the order shall be dealt with legally.
“All ward heads, village heads, traditional rulers, and stakeholders in Karim Lamido LGA are advised to take note of the development,” the statement said in its conclusion.
