Keke riders protest alleged harassment, extortion by police in Warri

Commercial tricycle operators, on Wednesday, marched to the caput bureau of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, DBIR, successful protestation of alleged Police harassment, extortion and amerciable arrest.

In defiance, the protesters blocked 1 lane of the large road to the airport, chanting solidarity songs. 

The protesters bore placards demanding answers implicit their plight, “License Office, archer america wherefore our sheet numbers are not registered successful your system. Police are harassing us”, “Government supply america with jobs please. Police permission Keke riders alone” and “License Office, what happened to our sheet numbers,” amongst others. 

The protesters alleged that the constabulary successful Warri and environs person been troubling them with amerciable apprehension and extortion of 10 thousand, N10,000, daily. 

They warned that if the substance is not handled amicably by the applicable authorities agencies, it could snowball into a large crisis.
