Lagos State Government has secured the condemnation of 13 individuals for offences relating to the indiscriminate dumping of refuse, arsenic a Magistrate Court sitting successful Bolade, Oshodi sentenced each of them to 3 months’ imprisonment.
The improvement was disclosed on Tuesday by the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, via his authoritative X handle.
According to the statement, the defendants were arraigned earlier the tribunal connected charges bordering connected violations of biology sanitation laws owed to amerciable discarded disposal practices.
All 13 defendants pleaded blameworthy to the charges brought against them.
Following their plea, the tribunal recovered them blameworthy and sentenced each of them to 3 months successful prison.
The convicted individuals are Jamiu Abdulkareem, Nwosu Martin, Abduljamiu Wasiu, Habeeb Muhammed, Kolawole Elijah, Anum Musa, Adeniyi Jamiu, Taiwo Olaniyi, Ali Muhammed, Paul Yaya, Damilare Adebowale, Ojo Fatai, and Abah Musa.
The authorities said the convictions bespeak its continued enforcement of biology regulations and its committedness to ensuring a cleaner, safer and healthier Lagos State.
It added that the determination is portion of a broader zero-tolerance attack to indiscriminate discarded disposal crossed the state.
