With Julian Alvarez’s first-half goal, Pep Guardiola’s team won their 12th straight league game to celebrate their third consecutive title and extend their undefeated streak across all competitions to 24 games.

Arsenal has fallen behind as a result of their scorching run, despite topping the standings for the most of the season.

Each Premier League is unique. And of course, winning three straight games shows how consistent we were, Guardiola stated immediately before the game.

“Especially while playing the opposition; in the past, Liverpool, and this year, the magnificent Arsenal. You attribute this to the caliber of your competitors. Both teams push us to the maximum.

After kicking off their title celebration on Saturday night, City could afford to start against Chelsea with Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Ruben Dias on the bench.

By the time the City squad bus arrived at the Etihad, the fans’ celebrations were still running strong. The stadium was encircled by fans waving flags and cheering for their dynasty side while lighting blue smoke flares.

If City can add the FA Cup and Champions League to their most recent Premier League victory, they will firmly establish themselves as one of English football’s all-time best sides. They are now seven points ahead of Arsenal with two games remaining.

On June 3, Manchester United will be the opponent in the FA Cup final at Wembley. Seven days later, Inter Milan will be the opponent as Guardiola’s team attempts to win the Champions League for the first time.

The last English team to win the triple was United in 1999, therefore City would be thrilled to duplicate their rivals’ record.

Players from Chelsea formed a queue to honor their City teammates as they entered the field with their kids as the club hymn “Blue Moon” resounded across the Etihad.
