Manchester United have secured the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte in a deal valued at up to €60 million. The move was confirmed by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who announced the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, calling it a “done deal.”

“Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United, here we go! Deal sealed between clubs after personal terms were agreed in July. €50m fixed fee plus €10m in add-ons will be the final package. Ugarte will travel to Manchester as he ONLY wanted United… and United only wanted him. Done,” Romano reported.

The confirmation follows weeks of speculation, with super agent Jorge Mendes having traveled to England for discussions with Manchester United regarding Ugarte’s potential transfer.

Throughout the summer, the Red Devils have been in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain, as manager Erik ten Hag seeks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the upcoming season.
