NDLEA intercepts ammunition concealed in garri on Abuja–Kaduna highway

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) person arrested a fishy for allegedly transporting military-grade ammunition concealed wrong bags of garri on the Abuja–Kaduna highway.

The bureau said the fishy was arrested during a regular patrol connected Tuesday, May 12, 2026, successful Kaduna State.

According to a connection issued on Sunday by the agency’s spokesman, the suspect, identified arsenic 35-year-old Abdullahi Hassan, was caught conveying a ample quantity of ammunition hidden successful caller cassava granules, popularly known arsenic garri.

“A ample cache of military-grade ammunition was intercepted by NDLEA officers connected patrol on Abuja-Kaduna highway,” the connection said.

The bureau disclosed that a full of 1,989 rounds of RLA 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from the suspect.

“Abdullahi Hassan was arrested portion transporting 1,989 rounds of ammunition cautiously hidden wrong bags of garri,” the connection added.

NDLEA said some the fishy and the recovered items had been handed implicit to different information bureau for further investigation.
