Nigerian Army arrests five suspected armed criminals

The Nigerian Army has disclosed that troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, stationed astatine Forward Operating Base, FOB, Karim Lamido, apprehended 5 suspected equipped criminals connected June 4, 2026, pursuing a distress telephone regarding an onslaught by transgression elements connected communities wrong the Local Government Area.

In a connection issued by the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, it was reported that the troops promptly mobilized and proceeded to the location.

Upon their arrival, they encountered gunfire from unidentified assailants and responded with superior firepower, compelling the attackers to disperse successful assorted directions. The troops past pursued the fleeing suspects and successfully captured 5 individuals.

The items seized from the suspects included 2 motorcycles, daggers, machetes, assorted charms, gunpowder, and 5 mobile phones.
