Nigerian govt clarifies position on airtime market regulation

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, says its presumption connected matters relating to integer and non-traditional lending is constricted to its regulatory responsibilities.

Ijagwu said the suspension followed the work of an ex parte bid of the Federal High Court successful Lagos to FCCPC successful Suit No. FHC/L/CS/760/2026, filed by the Wireless Application Service Providers Association of Nigeria, WASPAN.

According to him, arsenic a law-abiding nationalist institution, FCCPC remains bound by the tribunal bid to suspend enforcement of the regularisation pending the determination of the substantive lawsuit by the court.
