No fresh detention bid on El-Rufai — ICPC

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has clarified the existent ineligible presumption of the remand successful detention of the erstwhile Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.

The ICPC said it was important to close what it described arsenic inaccurate reports suggesting that the Commission was successful tribunal connected Tuesday seeking a caller hold of his detention.

In a connection signed by John Okor Odey, Head of Media and Public Communication, the Commission urged the nationalist to debar spreading unverified accusation and to trust connected authoritative updates.

“The Commission appeared successful tribunal contiguous for the proceeding of Mallam El-Rufai’s application, dated and filed connected 6th March 2026, which seeks to overturn the tribunal bid renewing his remand issued connected 5th March 2026,” the connection said.

“During today’s proceedings, counsel to Mr El-Rufai was served with our effect to his application. The lawyer subsequently requested an adjournment to respond to the Commission’s submission.

“Consequently, the Magistrate adjourned the proceeding of the exertion to 31st March 2026 to let Mr El-Rufai’s squad capable clip to respond.
