Ogun State Magistrate Court sitting successful Isabo, Abeokuta, connected Monday sentenced fourteen discarded offenders to 2 weeks’ imprisonment with an enactment of fine.

The offenders who appeared earlier the tribunal connected a two-count complaint are Kareem Sherifat, Isiwat Ololade, Ojanuga Esther Usman Babatunde, Blessing John, Falodun Bukola and Agunbiade Titilayo.

Others are Oritogun Samson, Obasa Idowu, Solomon Adelani, Lateef Saidat, Taiwo Abimbola,Adeniyi Olayinka and Precious Adeyeri.

Prosecuting the discarded offenders, Sanitarian Abolaji Dasaolu, said they were arrested astatine astir 8.a.m astatine Tekobo, Idi-Aba of Abeokuta Magisterial District, for dumping garbage connected a nationalist road.

Dasaolu noted that the garbage emitted an violative odor that attracted flies, liable to dispersed cholera, which is unsafe to health.

He added that depositing garbage connected nationalist roads and drains could artifact nationalist drains, which predisposes the metropolis to flooding are unsafe to beingness and property.

He said the offences are some contrary to Public Health Law of Ogun State 2006 and Section 34(1) of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority Law 2020.
