Ogun illegal mining site, trucks forfeited to FG by court order — EFCC

A Federal High Court sitting successful Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the last forfeiture of an amerciable mining site, trucks loaded with mineral resources, lithium stones and different assets linked to alleged amerciable mining activities successful Ogun State to the Federal Government.

Justice Daniel Osiagor gave the bid connected May 22, 2026, pursuing an exertion filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

According to the EFCC, the assets were recovered from Chinese nationals and Nigerians accused of engaging successful unlawful mining operations and the amerciable commercialized successful mineral resources.

“The forfeited assets see a mining tract located down the Baale’s Palace connected Ileposo Street, adjacent to 59 Street, Ode-Remo, Ogun State; a Toyota 4Runner SUV with registration fig AWE 261 AE; 2 trucks loaded with mica and lithium stones; and a 40-foot instrumentality containing ample quantities of the aforesaid minerals,” EFCC said.  

The anti-graft bureau approached the tribunal done its counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, seeking support for the custody and disposal of the recovered properties successful enactment with applicable provisions of the law.
