Police arrest 225 suspects in Katsina over banditry, kidnapping, other crimes

The Katsina State Police Command said it arrested 225 suspects linked to assorted crimes, including kidnapping, banditry, cattle rustling and arms trafficking, successful May 2026.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this connected Thursday portion presenting the command’s operational scorecard for the month, adding that the command, nether the enactment of Commissioner of Police Ali Umar Fage, intensified intelligence-led operations, associated patrols and inter-agency collaboration to combat transgression activities crossed the state.

“Our attack remains proactive, and the results bespeak measurable advancement successful restoring nationalist information crossed the state,” Sadiq said.

He explained that those arrested included 7 suspected kidnappers, 10 equipped robbery suspects, 1 suspected equipped bandit, 2 suspected informants and 21 suspected cause peddlers.

Others see 10 suspects linked to execution and culpable homicide, 36 suspects arrested for rape and sodomy, 13 suspected societal miscreants and 130 persons arrested for different offences.
