Police arrest four suspects over gun-running in Delta  

The Delta State Police Command has arrested 4 suspected members of a gun-running syndicate allegedly connected to the betterment of an amerciable Beretta pistol successful Effurun, Uvwie section authorities area.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, during a property briefing successful Asaba, said the suspects were apprehended during intelligence-led operations carried retired successful Bayelsa and Imo States.

He said the arrests followed investigations into a Beretta pistol recovered astatine a transport parkland successful Effurun connected May 1, 2026.

“The archetypal suspect, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, was arrested successful Bayelsa State connected May 4 alongside his roommate, whose telephone was allegedly utilized to facilitate connection for the firearm transaction. Police investigations revealed that Chukwuemeka allegedly purchased the pistol from 1 Amadi Princewill for #290,000 earlier reselling it to a fishy identified arsenic Desmond, who is presently astatine large, for #380,000.”
