Police arrest multiple suspects for theft, fraud in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested 8 suspects successful transportation with motorcycle thefts, fraud, and different transgression activities crossed the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, quality received connected 6th March 2026 led constabulary to a suspected transgression hideout on Jebba Road successful Mokwa.

He explained that connected 8th March astatine astir 5:30 pm, a patrol squad led by the Divisional Police Officer of Mokwa arrested 35-year-old Yahaya Alh. Nma and recovered 3 Bajaj motorcycles and 1 TVS motorcycle suspected to beryllium stolen.

The PRO disclosed that further probe led to the apprehension of 3 different suspects: Abdullahi Usman (35), Idris Mohammed (40), and Mohammed Ndako (27).

He stated that they reportedly confessed to stealing aggregate motorcycles wrong Mokwa.

Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend different pack members and retrieve further stolen motorcycles.
