Ryan Mason insists he is “ready” for the Spurs position

Ryan Mason pledged a triumphant response after their humiliating loss to Newcastle, stating that he had no doubts about his abilities to lead Tottenham Hotspur.

After Cristian Stellini was fired on Monday following last weekend’s 6-1 humiliation at St James’ Park, caretaker manager Mason has become Spurs’ third manager in a wild season.

Despite being only 31, Mason has already served as caretaker manager twice, having been appointed to the position following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal at the conclusion of the 2020–21 season.

The former Tottenham midfielder, whose playing career was cut short in 2017 after suffering a fractured skull from an unintentional head collision while playing for Hull, is now scheduled to oversee six more matches for Spurs.

With Manchester United, who are six points ahead of Spurs and also have two games remaining, coming to north London on Thursday and then traveling to Liverpool on Sunday, he has a difficult start.
