The Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, Samaila Dahuwa Kaila, on Monday lost his bid to instrumentality to the legislature nether the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,  after suffering decision astatine the party’s superior election.

Kaila, who was  elected to the legislature nether the level of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defected to the APC successful 2025 and became 1 of the starring voices opposing the planned defection of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to the ruling party.

Announcing the results of the nonstop superior predetermination on Monday, Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Brigadier-General Saidu Abdulhameed (Rtd), said 3 aspirants contested for the Bauchi North senatorial ticket.

According to him, Dahuwa Kaila scored 12,912 votes, Ibrahim Mohammed Baba polled 22,744 votes, portion Sirajo Ibrahim Tanko secured 5,202 votes.

“Therefore, Ibrahim Mohammed Baba, having satisfied the requirements and garnered the highest fig of votes, is hereby declared the victor for Bauchi North Senatorial District,” helium stated.
