UI student dies after allegedly ingesting insecticide

A pupil of University of Ibadan, whose sanction has not been revealed, has died.

Sources said that the student, who was successful 300-level until his death, died connected Sunday.

It was learnt that the pupil died aft helium allegedly took a substance suspected to beryllium insecticide.

The incidental occurred Sunday night.

Sources said that the deceased was recovered connected the crushed level of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall successful an unconscious and distressed authorities by a chap student.

It was learnt that the deceased reportedly admitted to taking a substance identified arsenic sniper.

He was thereafter rushed to the assemblage clinic.

The deceased who was stabilised astatine the session was aboriginal referred to University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, wherever helium was placed connected beingness support, but died later.

Public Relations Officer of UCH, Funmi Adetuyibi, erstwhile contacted connected Tuesday, confirmed the decease of the student.

“Yes, it is true. He was brought to the hospital. He is dead,” she said.
