University of Ibadan Sees Protest Over Fee Increase, Power Rationing
University of Ibadan (UI) students have taken to the streets in protest of the administration’s decision to increase fees and the availability of electricity, among other things.
Students held signs in front of the campus entrance on Wednesday as part of the protest that began in the late hours of Tuesday.
In order to stop cars from entering the university, the demonstrators blocked the main entrance.
When our correspondent went to the school, she observed students sitting on the main gate’s access road and holding banners.
To express their anger, a different group of students gathered on the grounds of Trenchard Hall and began chanting different songs.
