Chief David Chigbu, the vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, has left the organization.

Additionally, he proclaimed his support for Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who is challenging Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the Abia South senatorial district election under the banner of the All Progressive Grand Alliance.

Prior to the PDP’s primary election last year, Abaribe had abandoned the party.

In a statement on Thursday, Chigbu said that his old party was a sham that had discredited the government.

In addition, he labeled the state’s ruling party and government as a nest of liars that had reached an all-time low in light of their impending electoral defeat.

He continued, “I have to resign now to prevent the complete collapse of what is left of PDP.

He claimed that Abaribe is a representation of what morality and fortitude look like, even in the face of oppression.

“Abia under PDP has become a laughing stock and a punchline among Nigerians, particularly now,” the statement added.

“We must all work together to free this state from the predatory invaders who are currently holding it hostage.

“My resignation is a patriotic obligation to stand with other well-meaning Abians to prevent the PDP from further robbing our beloved state of its resources,” the resignation statement reads. There has been enough.

“I made the decision to leave because I think PDP is a scam. I believe that the PDP is misleading Abian citizens. PDP now has Alhaji Atiku Abubakar running for president, Professor Uche Ikonne was a past governorship candidate (who recently passed away), and Chief Okey Ahaiwe is a fresh candidate.

The presidential candidate visited Umuahia, but how many spectators were present at the rally in the stadium? When the presidential candidate visited Abia, where were the state’s most prominent citizen and numerous other party leaders?

“They want to sell our new governorship candidate and encourage Abians to support him, yet he showed up at the stadium looking abandoned.

“PDP is a party that doesn’t listen to anyone’s counsel. I serve as the state vice chairman in addition to being the zonal chairperson for Abia South. I go unnoticed in the office. Why would you steal my allowance as well as the meager ward officers’ allowances? I am a founding member of PDP, and as of right now, PDP owes me allowances totaling over N20 million. I said that I could not go on because the current state of the party was no longer comfortable for me.
