Prosecutors have filed a motion alleging that Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, and a racketeering co-defendant engaged in a hand-to-hand drug transaction during a court hearing.

The alleged exchange was captured on courtroom surveillance video on Wednesday, January 19, according to Fulton County prosecutors.

According to prosecutors, Thug’s co-defendant Kahlieff Adams was caught handing the rapper a bag of Percocets despite the fact that two bailiffs were only feet away.

According to the video, Adams “stood up from his chair and walked unattended” toward Thug before handing him an alleged bag of pills. While Adams is a defendant in the YSL RICO case, he is already serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for murder.

Thug was also accused of attempting to conceal the painkillers under the table before sheriff’s deputies recovered the alleged Percocets and attempted to search Adams.

Adams resisted the search and was taken to a nearby hospital because “he appeared to ingest other contraband that he held on his person, in an effort to conceal the extent of his crimes within the courtroom.”

Deputies eventually discovered Percocet, marijuana, and other contraband “wrapped in plastic and food seasonings to mask the odor of the marijuana” on Adams’ person.

Percocet is the brand name for a drug that combines oxycodone, an opioid, and acetaminophen, the generic name for drugs like Tylenol.

Keith Adams, an attorney for Young Thug, told CNN affiliate WSB-TV, “His point of view is correct. Mr. Williams had nothing to do with what happened in the courtroom yesterday.”

Adams also told WSB that Young Thug had no idea he was being given Percocet.

Teombre Calland, an attorney for Adams, sent WSB-TV a text message in which he stated:

“On Mr. Adams’ behalf, these allegations are simply that: statements made by the state in an attempt to shorten the length of the jury selection process.”

Young Thug received a Grammy Award in 2019 for his collaboration on the hit song “This is America” with Childish Gambino and Ludwig Gransson.
