Youths Continue to Be Nigeria’s Foundation for Development – Peter Obi
On this International Youth Day, Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has underscored the critical role that youth play in propelling the country’s growth.
Obi stressed the significance of giving Nigeria’s youth’s future top priority in a message made available on X (previously Twitter) today. He also urged officials to prioritize the needs and aspirations of this generation in the nation’s development strategy.
“Youths continue to be the cornerstone of any nation’s development,” Obi said, emphasizing the crucial part that youth play in determining Nigeria’s future.
He urged the leaders of the country to acknowledge this and make sure that the policies and strategies for development that are put in place today are focused on ensuring that the next generation has a better tomorrow.
Youths in Nigeria were also encouraged by Obi’s message to hold onto their hope and dedication to the country’s growth in spite of the difficulties it is now undergoing.
He acknowledged the harsh circumstances but emphasized the need for resilience and tenacity, saying, “These are very challenging times in our nation, but we must find the strength to keep pushing.”
Building a “New Nigeria” is a collective obligation that calls for the active engagement and dedication of all residents, especially the youth, as the former governor of Anambra State emphasized.
He underlined that the goal of a changed and forward-thinking Nigeria is not only feasible but “even more POssible” with persistence and unshakable dedication—a play on words that expresses his hope and faith in the potential of Nigeria’s youthful people.
Peter Obi concluded by wishing the Nigerian youth the very best, acknowledging their critical role in the future of their country. “Happy International Youth’s Day to all Nigerian Youths,” he said in closing, expressing his support for the younger generation’s aspirations and his unity with them.
