2027: APC disowns Abayomi Hunye as its Ogun governorship candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has disowned Mr Abayomi Hunye, who claims to beryllium its Ogun governorship campaigner for the 2027 election, describing him arsenic an imposter.

The party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, successful a connection on Monday in Abuja, said Senator Adeola Olamilekan remains the APC governorship campaigner successful the state.

“Hunye is not a subordinate of the APC; successful bully standing, helium was suspended from the enactment connected April 7, 2026; helium is an imposter presently connected suspension,” helium said.

He added that Hunye’s suspension was not arbitrary, but followed a petition from his Tube Ward successful Ipokia Local Government Area.

Basiru further stated that his suspension was driven by a grassroots decision, enforcement ratification and ceremonial support by the party’s State Working Committee.

“His suspension was ratified by the Ogun State Working Committee and communicated to the nationalist headquarters.

“His caller self-declaration arsenic the governorship campaigner of our enactment for the 2027 predetermination is wholly false, unauthorised, and a mischievous enactment aimed astatine misleading the public,” helium said.
