Wike Applauds Tinubu For Terminating Emefiele’s Position As CBN Governor
Nyesom Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, praised President Bola Tinubu for removing Godwin Emefiele from his position as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Late on Friday, Tinubu suspended Emefiele and ordered him to give over the bank’s Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), Folashodun Shonubi, right away.
Wike, who was one of Emefiele’s detractors for his policies, particularly the redesign of the Naira, responded to the news by calling the President’s choice bold and opportune.
According to a statement from his media team, the former governor of Rivers State also reprimanded President Tinubu for endorsing consistency in the retirement age and pension of judicial personnel nationwide.
He claimed that the President’s decision will give the country’s judiciary a fresh start.
Wike stated that he and the other G5 members are impressed by the President’s exceptional and focused leadership, which will guide the nation toward prosperity.
