Every day when I wake up, I pray to win the Grammy, says Davido

Afrobeats icon David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has declared his sincere desire to win a Grammy.

Davido stated that winning the world prize is his everyday prayer.

According to Dailyupdates, Davido has three Grammy nominations for 2024.

While “Unavailable” and “Feel” were nominated in the categories for Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance, respectively, his fourth studio album, “Timeless,” was nominated in the Best Global Music Album category.

Davido stated in a recent interview with GQ that everyone is aware of his sincere prayers for the honor.

“Everyone knows what one of my prayer points is right now,” he declared. I have three Grammy nominations under my belt. Therefore, everyone is aware of my daily prayers when I wake up.

Along with Burna Boy, Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu, and Gaurav Shah, Davido will compete for the Best Global Music Performance award.

In addition, he would face off against Bokante, Susana Baca, Burna Boy, and Shakti for the Best Global Music Album title.

He is up against well-known performers in the Best African Music Performance category, including Tyla from South Africa, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.
