Every previous Ekiti governor, according to Afe Babalola, failed to carry out the state’s plan.

Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), the Chancellor and founder of Afe Babalola University, has declared that none of the previous Ekiti Governors succeeded in carrying out the state’s plan.

Babalola praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his recent accomplishments while speaking at the opening of the ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, Annex Odo-Ado, on Igirigiri Road in Ado Ekiti. He also mentioned that the goal of Ekiti’s formation was to become the best state in Nigeria.

He uttered,

“I’m sorry you didn’t take office as governor of Ekiti sooner. We are aware of the actions we took to establish Ekiti State. Our goal was for Ekiti to become the greatest state in Nigeria, leading the way much like my university currently does.

“Unfortunately, Ekiti did not adore those who became governor before you. Tell them I told you so, and go ahead. That explains why the state is going through so much suffering. I was not paid for my work as a local government councilor in the 1960s.

“Ekiti Local Government was developing at the time. We assumed that the people taking over Ekiti would respect our precedents and guidelines, but they are unwilling to do so. But this governor is performing admirably.
