Twelve miscreants are detained in Lagos for causing disturbance.
Twelve criminals have been taken into custody by Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps officers as a result of surveillance operations conducted around the state.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state commissioner for environment and water resources, stated in a statement posted on X.com on Friday that the action was taken to bring order and cleanliness back to Lagos’ streets.
Concerned citizens reported the threat and annoyance posed by miscreants and the impoverished, prompting the action.
“The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial (KAI) yesterday deployed surveillance teams in some of the areas reported,” Wahab tweeted, “acting on reports received from concerned citizens regarding the menace and nuisance caused by miscreants and destitute.”
After monitoring Falomo in Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku, and Sanusi Fafunwa on Victoria Island, Chisco, Ikate, and Marwa along the Lekki-Ajah expressway, 12 suspects—10 adults and 2 minors—were taken into custody.
“A competent jurisdictional court will arraign the suspects.”
