“A Proof of God’s Grace,” Adesina Explains How He Became the Spokesperson for Buhari

Femi Adesina has shared his story of how he became Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, calling the achievement a “demonstration of God’s grace upon my life.”

The role was held by journalist Adesina from 2015 till 2023.

However, he disclosed the procedure that went into choosing him for the position months after he departed the position.

During the book launch on Tuesday, he said, “To me, I have always told people that working with President Muhammadu Buhari is a demonstration of God’s grace in my life.” The book, “Working with Buhari: Reflections of A Special Adviser, Media, and Publicity (2015-2023),” was written by the former president of Nigeria.

“Without warning, and without exerting any effort, I received an invitation to take up the role of Special Advisor on Publicity and Media. I was told how it happened by Dr. Kayode Fayemi, a former governor of Ekiti State who is there in the audience. He claimed that three names were given to him as potential candidates for Special Advisor on Media and Publicity after President Buhari’s announcement. He picked up his name from his breast pocket, glanced at the three names, circled my name, and signed in front of it. That is how it actually transpired.
