Abia emerges overall winner, as maiden South-East amateur boxing tournament ends in Umuahia

The maiden variation of the South-East Amateur Boxing Championship for the antheral and pistillate categories ended connected Friday successful Umuahia, Abia State, with the big authorities emerging wide champions aft winning 8 gold, 3 metallic and 2 bronze medals.

Enugu State finished 2nd with 4 golden and 4 metallic medals, portion Imo State placed 3rd with 1 gold, 1 metallic and 5 bronze medals.

Anambra State came 4th with 1 golden and 2 bronze medals, portion Ebonyi State managed 2 metallic and 3 bronze medals.

Declaring the boxing title closed, the Abia State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Nwaobilor Ananaba, said the 5 participating states displayed a precocious level of sportsmanship passim the competition.
