The Abia State Government has inaugurated the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee for the Abia State Strategy connected Accountability, Integrity and Anti-corruption, ABSIAS, with a complaint connected the members to enactment the state’s anti-corruption framework.
Abia State Head of Service, Benson Ojeikere, gave the complaint on Friday while inaugurating the committee comprising lawyers, journalists, civilian servants and members of civilian nine organizations.
Ojeikere, who was represented by Ukeje Uche Ukpabi, charged the committee members to spearhead the anti-corruption drive.
He mandated the committee members to discharge the work without fearfulness oregon favour by tracking the advancement of projects, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring that projects and programs are implemented successful compliance with the state’s anti-corruption framework.
In her speech, the Lead Consultant of Rule of Law and Anti-corruption Program, ROLAC, Professor Ada-Chidi Igbokwe, said the committee is mandated to enactment the state’s model connected preventing corruption successful the nationalist sector.
Igbokwe lamented that respective authorities policies and laws crossed the state person not been implemented oregon enforced, resulting to programme failures.
