According to El-Rufai, “Emefiele and Others Want the Military To Take Over Nigeria.”
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has alleged that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank, has a hidden agenda behind the recent monetary policy that has caused a lot of Nigerians tremendous distress over the past few weeks.
El-Rufai claimed that Emefiele and his supporters within the presidency intend to make life difficult for Nigerians, undermine the work of the government, and ensure that the upcoming elections are invalidated in his official state broadcast on Thursday.
According to El-Rufai, the ultimate goal is to have the military take control of Nigeria while also forcing them to intervene to stop the crisis brought on by a way of life that has made millions of Nigerians’ lives intolerable.
Governor El-words: Rufai’s
“They also tried to accomplish one or more of the following goals:
a. Establish a severe cash scarcity across the country to motivate voters to reject all APC candidates, culminating in crushing defeats for the Party in all elections;
b. Make sure that the financial crisis is so severe, along with the fabricated and ongoing fuel scarcity that has existed since September 2022, that the 2023 Elections are completely invalidated, resulting in an Interim National Government that will be led by a retired army general;
c. Continue the situation in which there is a lack of food, fuel, and other essentials, which causes widespread unrest, violence, and a breakdown in law and order and lays the groundwork for a military takeover.
According to the governor, in order to achieve these goals, “the Central Bank of Nigeria and these other disgruntled Federal officials have so far persuaded the President that it is fine for ordinary citizens to be deprived of their hard-earned money, and starve if necessary, while small and medium-sized businesses are deprived of access to their capital, thereby bringing trade and exchange to a grinding halt.”
El-Rufai claimed that all attempts to alter the policy’s implementation in order to prevent what were thought to be unintended consequences had failed. He added that he had been particularly close to the President and had chosen to speak out first in order to demonstrate his innocence and respect for the President’s legacy.
The governor underlined that he has no remorse about carrying out his duties in this case and emphasized that the president will one day understand why he and his fellow governors are receiving insults right now.
The governor posted a transcript of the whole program on his official Facebook page, which is shown below.
