Adamawa LG farmers protest alleged destruction of farms by herders

Farmers from assorted communities crossed Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State person protested alleged repeated demolition of their farmlands by herders.

The farmers, who gathered astatine the section authorities office successful Song town, accused herders of allowing their cattle to stray into farmlands and destruct crops.

The protesters, mostly from Orr Mountain, Djarakin, Didango, Loko, Kichiu, Hombo, Garin-Tuwo and Balma communities, carried placards with inscriptions including, “Governor Fintiri, Save Us. Our Farmlands Have Been Destroyed,” “We Say No to Destruction of Farms” and “We Need Peace and Government Intervention.”

At the Song Council Secretariat, the Council Information Officer, Vincent Baldeno, who received the farmers connected behalf of the Executive Chairman, Idris Yahaya, assured them that their grievances would beryllium communicated to the due authorities.

Baldeno added that the authorities would instrumentality indispensable measures to code the concern and appealed to the farmers to stay peaceful.
