Amnesty raises alarm over threats, inciting comments ahead of 2027 elections

Amnesty International has said it is intimately monitoring and documenting reckless, inciting and divisive remarks by politicians and their associates during ongoing campaigns up of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.

The quality rights organisation warned that politicians who usage campaigns to undermine freedom, bid and antiauthoritarian information could beryllium held accountable nether planetary law.

Amnesty’s informing follows a bid of arguable governmental remarks, including caller threats attributed to the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Eze Paul Ituma.
