APC: PDP is covering its tracks after rigging the Delta election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to the All Progressives Congress (APC), is attempting to hide its involvement in the March 18 Delta governorship election rigging.
This was stated in a statement made on Sunday in Asaba by Dr. Timi Tonye, the Deputy Director of Media and Publicity for the Delta APC campaign organization.
According to Tonye, the PDP presidential campaign council spokesperson and the state’s commissioner for information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, had expressed concern that the rigging might be discovered quickly.
“Aniagwu claimed that INEC issued strict guidelines to state Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) on the issuance of Certified True Copies (CTCs) of electoral documents for litigation by parties and candidates.
“He said that before issuing CTCs, INEC gave specific instructions to its RECs to compare the outcome in form EC8A with what is recorded on the IReV portal.
“Aniagwu is demanding from INEC a flagrant violation of the electoral law’s provisions, which clearly outline the procedure for compiling and making public the results of the governorship election.
In relation to the release of the Certified True Copies of the results of the governorship election in Delta, he said, “It is most absurd for anyone to request INEC not to implement the Electoral Law and INEC’s own rules.”
It is even more absurd, he continued, to accuse the PDP of “circumventing justice” in their statement when, in reality, it was they who used the now-famous BVAS by-pass during the recently concluded elections to thwart the course of justice.

The Delta electorate, who were cheated out of the actual results of the election in which they actively participated, find the impudence and mendacity of that demand offensive and gravely insulting.The PDP, their supporters, and fellow travelers want the fabricated results announced by the collation officers in the state’s INEC office to stand and not be challenged by the accurate counts of accreditations recorded by IReV. They are aware of the flagrant falsifications of the results of the Delta governorship election and the complete falsehood in the announced results.
“The PDP opposes using the results uploaded from across the state into BVAS to confirm the results released by the Delta collation officers.
“PDP wants the Certified True Copy of the election results to be released in Asaba for this reason.
“The PDP is paralyzed by the fear of the results’ announcements being verified. Every patriotic Deltan must resist the sheer volume of debauchery, rigging, and other attempts to steal an election that the PDP unmistakably lost.
“We ask the people of the state to be vigilant, steadfast, and stand with the APC to safeguard democracy in Delta and the integrity of the 2023 governorship election as we move forward with our pursuit of justice in the case of the governorship election in 2023.
“We are steadfast in our resolve to restore the mandate to the legitimate governorship winner in 2023.”
