The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended the president of Kwande Local Government Council, Hon Vitalis Neji, implicit allegations of gross misconduct and maltreatment of office.
The suspension followed the information and adoption of the study of an advertisement hoc committee acceptable up by the House to analyse the allegations against the assembly chairman.
Presenting the study during plenary connected Thursday, the Majority Leader and president of the committee, Hon Peter Ipusu, said Neji appeared earlier the sheet but failed to satisfactorily support himself against the allegations levelled against him.
The committee had recommended a three-month suspension for the chairman. However, aft debating the report, members unanimously called connected the Speaker, Rt Hon Alfred Emberga, to regularisation connected the matter.
In his ruling, Emberga reduced the suspension to 1 period to let for further probe into the allegations.
