BREAKING: Osun decides: Adeleke wins keenly contested governorship election 

Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The declaration of the effect was made by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who is besides the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Sunday morning.

 Adeleke won the predetermination aft polling 511,067  votes against his opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 444,815 votes.

Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, scored 17,180 votes coming 3rd connected the ballot.

With this victory, Ademola Adeleke wins the mandate of the Osun electorates for a 2nd term.

DAILY POST reports that 15 governmental parties contested successful the election, with the 3 apical contenders successful the Accord, APC and the ADC.
