Coup plot: DSS docks 5 over alleged information concealment on Timiprey Sylva’s whereabouts

The Department of State Services, DSS, has arraigned 5 Nigerians earlier the Federal High Court successful Abuja implicit the alleged concealment of accusation connected the whereabouts of Timiprey Silva, a erstwhile Governor of Bayelsa State and the alleged mastermind of the coup effort against President Bola Tinubu.

They are Reuben Ayuba, Musa Mohammed, FRIDAY Paul, Paganengigha Anagaha, and Ayebaifife Suobite, who were arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Peter Lifu.

A two-count complaint filed against them alleged that connected April 28, 2026, the accused persons became accessories aft the information of a felony by concealing the whereabouts of Timiprey Silva, said to beryllium a fugitive from the law.

The alleged offence is said to beryllium contrary to Section 519 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN), 2004.

The DSS besides accused them of conspiracy to perpetrate a felony, to wit: concealing the whereabouts of Timiprey Silva, who is simply a fugitive from the law, contrary to Section 516 of the Criminal Code, LFN, 2004.

However, each the accused persons pleaded not blameworthy to the charges erstwhile they were work to them.

DSS counsel, Emmanuel Orubor, asked the justice to hole a day for the commencement of proceedings by calling witnesses to attest against the defendants.
