A Federal High Court sitting successful Minna, Niger State, has adjourned until July 9, 2026, the suit challenging the emergence of Prof. Yakubu Mohammed Auna arsenic the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaigner for the Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency up of the 2027 wide election.

The suit, filed by Alhaji Shehu Samaila Auna, is seeking the nullification of the superior election, alleging that nary valid APC superior was conducted successful the constituency earlier Prof. Auna was declared the party’s candidate.

Also joined arsenic defendants successful the suit are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Shehu Saleh Slow, Safiyanu Yahaya, Emma Alamu, and Sani Doma.

The plaintiff is asking the tribunal to find whether the APC complied with the provisions of Sections 84, 86, and 87 of the Electoral Act, 2026, successful nominating its candidate, arguing that the enactment failed to behaviour a lawful superior election.

He is further urging the tribunal to state Prof. Auna’s information null and void and to restrain INEC from recognising oregon accepting him arsenic the APC campaigner for the constituency.

When the substance came up, proceedings could not commence due to the fact that 2 of the defendants had not been served with proceeding notices.
