Court fixes January 27 for judgment in Tukur Mamu’s terrorism trial

The Federal High Court successful Abuja has fixed January 27, 2027, for judgement successful the coercion proceedings of Tukur Mohammed Mamu, who is accused of negotiating connected behalf of terrorists.

Justice Mohammed Umar announced the day connected Monday aft lawyers representing the Federal Government and Mamu presented their last arguments.

The prosecution counsel, David Kaswe, adopted the government's last written code and urged the tribunal to convict Mamu, saying the prosecution had proved its case.

He said: “We respectfully follow our written code arsenic our oral submission and statement successful impervious of the lawsuit against the defendant.

However, Mamu's lawyer, Johnson Usman, adopted the defence's last and reply addresses and asked the tribunal to acquit his client.

He said: “We follow these 2 addresses and, we humbly impulse this honourable tribunal to graciously acquit and discharge the suspect connected each the counts preferred by Federal Government, arsenic same, having not been proved successful immoderate manner.”
