The Court of Appeal sitting successful Kaduna has reserved judgement successful the bail entreaty filed by erstwhile Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) urged the tribunal to disregard the appeal.
However, El-Rufai’s counsel, Paul Erokoro, SAN, argued that the charges against his lawsuit are not superior offences and that his continued detention was affecting his quality to adequately hole his defence.
Erokoro besides described El-Rufai arsenic a salient absorption figure, arguing that the timing of the transgression charges, coming adjacent to an election, was noteworthy.
“We taxable that the offences with which the appellant is charged are not superior offences, and his continued detention is affecting his quality to hole his defence,” Erokoro told the court.
The tribunal heard arguments from some sides earlier reserving judgment.
No day was fixed for the transportation of the judgment.
