Court remands three ADC members over alleged cultism in Rivers

A Magistrate Court successful Port Harcourt has ordered the remand of 3 members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, from Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State; Confidence Amadi, Chikezie Justice and Isaiah Thomas, astatine the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

The 3 men were brought earlier the tribunal by the Rivers State Police Command connected 3 charges, including conspiracy, alleged cult-related activities and menace to life.

At the proceeding on Tuesday, the prosecution asked the tribunal to remand the suspects done an ex-parte application.

The prosecution said the Magistrates’ Court lacked the powerfulness to perceive the lawsuit and that the remand would let the constabulary to instrumentality the substance to a tribunal with the due jurisdiction.

Presiding Magistrate Obiangeri Onugbum-Onuoha granted the exertion and ordered that the 3 suspects stay successful the correctional centre.
